Evaluating Your Carpet Choices

  • Wool Carpet has very good wear resistance but is highly weak to stain resistance. It's cost is one of the main factors in it being less popular on the market as the prices are sometimes 2-3 times higher of Nylon and Olefin.

  • Nylon is the leading choice of carpet and is suitable for almost all areas of your home. The wear resistance on these carpets is rated usually the highest of all types and its cleanability is very good. It's never a bad choice to choose nylon carpets for your home. It's easy to clean and highly durable.

  • Polyester is not the most common carpet choice today. The resilience is the main issue as it can go quicker in high traffic areas. This choice is often best in low traffic areas of your home. Polyester carpet is excellent for stain resistance and doesn't lose color due to sunlight.

  • Polypropylene Olefin is not far being Nylon in terms of popularity. Olefin is nearly stain and fade proof. The drawback is it's not as soft as polyester carpet and not as resilient as Nylon.
